Julia Brooke Chapdelaine

Message from Julia’s parents:
Julia was so much to so many. It’s hard to fit her entire essence into a few paragraphs.
Julia was a daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and best friend.
She was a loving, kind, accepting person that could put a smile on anyone's face.
Julia loved to dance. She started when she was 4 and discovered show choir when she was very young. She couldn’t wait to be in her middle school show choir. This passion evolved into her competing all over the country with her high school show choirs, Fantasy and Illusion.
Show choir season was a busy time and she loved every minute of it!
When she wasn’t competing on stage, she was competing on the field. Julia played softball for many years and eventually decided to devote her time to field hockey. Her dad and I attended every game and loved it as much as she did!
Julia loved camping and never missed an opportunity to hang out with our “camping crew”. Her favorite vacation was our annual Cape trip to Race Point. The first vehicle she purchased was a Jeep just so she could drive it on the beach. The last time we were there together in 2023, she stated that no matter where she lived or what she was doing, she would never miss the Cape week.
Julia was a proud Nor’easter and received her degree posthumously in the Spring of 2024. She was studying Public Health at the University of New England at the time of her death. She thrived in this program and was proud of the work she was doing to help others. She would have excelled in this field.
As Julia’s mom, I think the most important thing to know about her is how she made other people feel. She touched so many in her short time. All of her friends were her best friends. She truly loved people and always saw the good in them. If she were still here, she’d be dedicating her time personally and professionally for the greater good.
Jerry, Cam, and I would like to thank everyone for their love and support as we navigate through this unimaginable loss while also finding an opportunity to keep our Julia’s legacy alive. We are proud to carry forward her passion for helping others and making the world a better place.

She is like a sunflower
She stands tall in her faith
She waters the soil of her mind with words of love and kindness
Spreading seeds of happiness across the field
Brightening the world like the sun does, with her smile
She doesn’t seek to compete or validate who she truly is
Blooming with elegance, she unapologetically rises up to shine her light
She is purpose
She is like a sunflower
